Course objectives

Junior Diploma in Montessori Method of Education is a basic teacher training course in the core subjects of the Montessori Curriculum. The training is designed to provide its trainees:

• A basic knowledge in Montessori Philosophy & Theory
• A thorough grounding in the core subjects of the Montessori Curriculum
• A basic understanding of child development
• An appreciation and understanding of the teaching aids developed by Dr. Maria Montessori
• A knowledge of Montessori environment and the role of a Montessori directress/ director/ teacher
• General knowledge on essential aspects of ECED

Course Structure

The Montessori Junior Diploma covers all the five core elements of Montessori curriculum viz. Practical Life Exercises (PLE), Sensorial, Language and Phonics, Maths and Cultural Education (Knowledge and Understanding of the World)

Entry qualification    : SLC (or its equivalent)

Minimum Age             :  17 Years

Duration of course    : 2 ½  –  3months

Course materials       : Upon the acceptance on to the course, students are provided 5 subjects booklets, a book and a phonics CD

Method of study        : Part time study, 3 days a week
